✧ The reward of those who pray at a funeral.

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاودُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَعَدَ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ جَنَنِهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever follows a funeral bier and prays over it and then leaves gets one qīrāṭ of reward. And whoever follows it and prays over it and then remains seated until its burial is finished gets two qīrāṭs of reward, each of which is greater than Uḥud.”
