✧ The funeral meeting of a young boy and a woman

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ جِنَازَةَ امْرَأَةِ وَصَبِيٍّ فَقُدِّمَ الصَّبِيُّ مِمَّا يَلِي الْقَوْمَ وَوُضِعَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَرَاءَهُ فَصُلِّيَ عَلَيْهِمَا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبُو قَتَادَةَ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالُوا «السُّنَّةُ»

✧ I attended the funeral of a woman and a boy. The boy was placed closer to the people, and the woman was placed behind him. They prayed over them. Among the people were Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Ibn 'Abbas, Abu Qatadah, and Abu Hurayrah. I asked them about that, and they said, 'The Sunnah.'
