أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ
مُطِرَ النَّاسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا مَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ؟» قَالَ مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرَيْنِ يَقُولُونَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَبِنَوْءِ كَذَا فَأَمَّا مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَحَمِدَنِي عَلَى سُقْيَايَ فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِي وَكَفَرَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَمَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَنَوْءِ كَذَا فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِي وَآمَنَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ
Translation

✧ The people received rain during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: “Did you not hear what your Lord said last night?” He said: “I have not bestowed any blessing upon My servants except that a group of them becomes disbelievers because of it, saying, ‘We received rain by such-and-such a star and such-and-such a star.’ As for the one who believes in Me and praises Me for My giving of rain, that is the one who believes in Me and disbelieves in the star. And whoever says, ‘We received rain by such-and-such a star and such-and-such a star,’ that is the one who disbelieves in Me and believes in the star.”
