أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ عَوْفٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي عَلَى أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ فَقَالَ
لَهُ أَبِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الْمَكْتُوبَةَ؟ قَالَ «كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْهَجِيرَ» إِلَى أَنْ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الَّتِي تَدْعُونَهَا الْعَتَمَةَ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا مُخْتَصَرٌ

✧ My father was asked: How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray the obligatory prayer? He said: "He used to pray the midday prayer"—until he said: "and he used to prefer to delay the 'Isha prayer, which you call al-'Atamah." He said: "And he disliked sleeping before it and talking after it." Abbreviated.
