أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَنَّ مُجَاهِدًا
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ السَّائِبَ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ بَعْدَمَا قَبَضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي قد كَبِرْتُ وَإِنِّي لَسْتُ أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ إِلَّا جَالِسًا فَكَيْفَ تَرَيْنَ فَقَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ جَالِسًا مِثْلُ نِصْفِ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا» خَالَفَهُمَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ

✧ He informed him that al-Sa'ib entered upon A'ishah after the Prophet ﷺ had passed away and said, 'I have grown old and I am only able to pray seated, so what do you think?' She said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The prayer of a man seated is like half of his prayer standing."' Sufyan al-Thawri disagreed with both of them.
