أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الْكَوْثَرُ؟ قَالَ «نَهْرٌ أَعْطَانِيهِ رَبِّي فِي الْجَنَّةِ هُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ فِيهِ طُيُورٌ أَعْنَاقُهَا كَأَعْنَاقِ الْجُزُرِ» قَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا لَنَاعِمَةٌ قَالَ «آكِلُهَا أَنْعَمُ مِنْهَا»

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is al-Kawthar?” He said, “A river that my Lord gave me in Paradise. It is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. In it are birds whose necks are like the necks of camels.” ʿUmar ؓ said, “O Messenger of Allah, they are indeed plump.” He said, “The one who eats them is more blessed than they.”
