أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَجَاءَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكَ عَنْ هَذَا؟ وَاللهِ إِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا بِهَا نَادٍ أَكْثَرُ مِنِّي فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ} [العلق 18] قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَاللهِ لَوْ دَعَا نَادِيَهُ لَأَخَذَتْهُ الزَّبَانِيَةُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed, and Abu Jahl came and said, 'Did I not forbid you from this? By God, you know that there is no assembly in it with more people than mine.' Then God, exalted be He, revealed: {Let him call his associates; We will call the guards of Hell} [al-'Alaq 18]. Ibn 'Abbas said, 'By God, if he had called his associates, the guards of Hell would have seized him.'
