أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّلَمِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ وَهُوَ مَعَ جَنَازَةٍ «مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ كُتِبَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نَتَّكِلُ؟ قَالَ اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ {مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى} [الليل 6]

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said while he was with a funeral procession, 'There is none of you but his seat in the Fire and his seat in Paradise have been written.' They said, 'O Messenger of God, should we not then rely [on this]?' He said, 'Work, for everyone is facilitated. {As for him who gives and fears [God] and believes in the best [reward], We will ease him toward ease. But as for him who is miserly and considers himself self-sufficient and denies the best [reward], We will ease him toward hardship} [al-Layl 6].'
