أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ وَحَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ سِتُّونَ وَثَلَاثُمِائَةِ نَصُبٍ فَجَعَلَ يَطْعُنُهَا بِعُودٍ فِي يَدِهِ وَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ {وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا} [الإسراء 81] وَ {جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ} [سبأ 49]

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque while there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Kaaba. He began striking them with a stick in his hand and saying: {And say: Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Indeed falsehood is ever vanishing} [al-Isra': 81] and {Truth has come, and falsehood can neither initiate nor repeat} [Saba': 49].
