أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ {الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَلْبِسُوا} [الأنعام 82] إِيمَانَهُمْ بِظُلْمٍ شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَأَيُّنَا لَا يَظْلِمُ نَفْسَهُ؟ قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ الشِّرْكُ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا إِلَى مَا قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ {يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ} [لقمان 13]

✧ When {Those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing} [Al-An'am: 82] was revealed, that was hard on the Muslims. They said, "O Messenger of God, which of us does not wrong himself?" He said, "It is not that; it is only shirk. Have you not heard what Luqman said to his son: {O my son, do not associate partners with God. Indeed, shirk is a great wrongdoing} [Luqman: 13]?"
