أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ كُلْثُومِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَخَذَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى الْمِيثَاقَ مِنْ ظَهْرِ آدَمَ بِنَعْمَانَ يَعْنِي عَرَفَةَ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ كُلَّ ذُرِّيَّةٍ ذَرَأَهَا فَنَثَرَهُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ كَالذَّرِّ ثُمَّ كَلَّمَهُمْ فَتَلَا قَالَ {أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكَمْ قَالُوا بَلَى شَهِدْنَا أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ} [الأعراف 172] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكُلْثُومٌ هَذَا لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ وَحَدِيثُهُ لَيْسَ بِالْمَحْفُوظِ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: Allah, blessed and exalted is He, took the covenant from the back of Ādam at Naʿmān—meaning ʿArafah—and brought forth from his loins every descendant He would create, scattering them before Him like tiny ants. Then He spoke to them, reciting: {Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes, we testify. Lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: Indeed we were unaware of this} [al-Aʿrāf:172], to the end of the verse. Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: This Kulthūm is not strong, and his ḥadīth is not preserved.
