✧ Peace be upon you by the hands in prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ يَعْنِي رَافِعُو أَيْدِينَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ «مَا بَالُهُمْ رَافِعِينَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ الْخَيْلِ الشُّمْسِ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we—meaning—were raising our hands in prayer. He said: "What is the matter with them, raising their hands in prayer as if they were the tails of restless horses? Be still in prayer."
