أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كَانَ آخِرَ كَلَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ حِينَ أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ حَسْبِيَ اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ قَالَ وَقَالَ نَبِيُّكُمْ ﷺ مِثْلَهَا {الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا} [آل عمران 173] اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

✧ The last words of Ibrahim ﷺ when he was thrown into the fire were: “Sufficient for me is Allah, and how excellent a Guardian is He.” He said: And your Prophet ﷺ said the like of it: “Those to whom the people said, ‘Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But it increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and how excellent a Guardian is He’” [Āli ʿImrān 173].
