أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ يَنْتَظِرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَدْيَانِ أَحَدٌ يَذْكُرُ اللهَ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ قَالَ وَأُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ} [آل عمران 113] حَتَّى بَلَغَ {وَاللهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ} [آل عمران 115]

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the Isha prayer one night, then went out to the mosque and found the people waiting for the prayer. He said: "Indeed, no one among the followers of these religions remembers Allah at this hour except you." He said: And this verse was revealed: {They are not all the same; among the People of the Book...} [Al Imran: 113] until he reached {And Allah is knowing of the righteous} [Al Imran: 115].
