أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ سَمِعْتُ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُرِيدُ سَفَرًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوْصِنِي؟ قَالَ «أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ وَاذْكُرِ اللهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ» فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ «زَوَى اللهُ لَكَ الْأَرْضَ وَهَوَّنَ عَلَيْكَ السَّفَرَ»

Translation

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intending to travel and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, advise me.' He said: 'I advise you to fear Allah and to remember Allah upon every elevation.' When he turned away, he said: 'May Allah contract the earth for you and make the journey easy for you.'
