أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ «بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a trace of yellow (saffron) on 'Abd al-Rahman and said, 'What is this?' He said, 'I married a woman for a weight of a date-stone of gold.' He said, 'May Allah bless you. Give a wedding feast, even with a sheep.'
