Sahih Muslim 1070b

Zakat is forbidden for the messenger of Allah pbuh and his family, and they are Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib, and no one else

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ بْنُ هَمَّامٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَنْقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَأَجِدُ التَّمْرَةَ سَاقِطَةً عَلَى فِرَاشِي أَوْ فِي بَيْتِي فَأَرْفَعُهَا لآكُلَهَا ثُمَّ أَخْشَى أَنْ تَكُونَ صَدَقَةً أَوْ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأُلْقِيهَا

I go back to my family and I find a date lying on my bed or in my house, and I take it up to eat it, but then I throw it away fearing that it may be a Sadaqa or from Sadaqa.
