وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْكَلَاعِيُّ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ الْمِقْدَامَ بْنَ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا يَزِيدَ، إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكَ لَمْ تَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَاللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ وَأَنَا أَمْشِي مَعَ عَمِّي، فَأَخَذَ بِأُذُنِي هَذِهِ، فَقَالَ لِعَمِّي: أَتَرَى هَذَا يَذْكُرُ أُمَّهُ أَوْ أَبَاهُ ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ

Translation

✧ I came to al-Miqdam b. Ma'dikarib in the mosque and said: 'O Abu Yazid, the people claim that you did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: 'Glory be to Allah! By Allah, I saw him while I was walking with my uncle, and he took hold of this ear of mine and said to my uncle: "Do you think this one remembers his mother or his father?" We said to him...'
