وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْهُنَائِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فَضَالَةَ، أَنَا الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ بْنِ رَضِيعٍ الْجَارُودِ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ بِالْكُوفَةِ، فَقَامَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ؓ خَطِيبًا، فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، رَأَيْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ فِي مَنَامِي عَجَبًا ! رَأَيْتُ الرَّبَّ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى قَامَ عِنْدَ قَائِمَةٍ مِنْ قَوَائِمِ الْعَرْشِ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ ؓ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ فَكَانَ نَبْذَةً، فَقَالَ: يَا رَبِّ، سَلْ عِبَادَكَ فِيمَ قَتَلُونِي ؟ قَالَ: فَانْبَعَثَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِيزَابَانِ مِنْ دَمٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ، قَالَ: فَقِيلَ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ: أَلَا تَرَى مَا يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ الْحَسَنُ ؓ ؟ قَالَ رِضْوَانُ اللهِ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ: يُحَدِّثُ بِمَا رَأَى

✧ I was in Kufa when al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī ؓ stood up as a preacher and said: 'O people, last night I saw in my dream a wonder! I saw the Lord, Blessed and Exalted, above His Throne. The Messenger of God ﷺ came and stood at one of the legs of the Throne. Abū Bakr ؓ came and placed his hand on the shoulder of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Then ʿUmar ؓ came and placed his hand on the shoulder of Abū Bakr ؓ. Then ʿUthmān ؓ came and was a short distance away. He said: "O Lord, ask Your servants why they killed me." He said: Then two spouts of blood gushed from the sky onto the earth. He said: It was said to ʿAlī ؓ: "Do you not see what al-Ḥasan ؓ is relating?" He said—may the pleasure of God Almighty be upon him—: "He relates what he saw."
