✧ The Encouragement to Persist in Glorification

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، ثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِفَقِيهٍ بِمَكَّةَ: إِنَّ لَنَا فَقِيهًا أَعْنِي الْحَسَنَ إِذَا سَكَتَ فَإِنَّمَا هِجِّيرَاهُ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ هَذَا لَفَقِيهٌ، مَا قَالَهَا عَبْدٌ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ إِلَّا بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Translation

✧ I said to a jurist in Makkah: We have a jurist—meaning al-Hasan—who, when he is silent, his constant refrain is: Glory be to Allah and with His praise, glory be to Allah the Magnificent. He said: This companion of yours is indeed a jurist. No servant says it seven times except that a house is built for him in Paradise.
