✧ A man used to sit with Masrūq, and he was among the last to bid him farewell. He said: "O Abū ʿĀʾishah, you are the foremost of the Qurʾān reciters and their master, and your adornment is adornment for them, and your disfigurement is disfigurement for them. So do not tell yourself of poverty or of long life."
