وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي رِيَاحُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ:
إِنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ كَانَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَمَعَهُ نَاسٌ يُقْرِئُهُمْ، فَدَعَا بِشَرَابٍ، فَقَالَ: « أَمَا إِنَّ هَذَا الشَّرَابَ كَانَ فِي سِقَاءِ مَنِيحَةٍ لَنَا مَاتَتْ

✧ Ibn Mas'ud ؓ was in the mosque with some people whom he was teaching the Qur'an. He called for a drink and said, 'Indeed, this drink was in the water-skin of a sheep given to us for milking that died.'
