✧ What to Say When Asked How You Have Risen

قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ:

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: كَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتُمْ ؟ قَالَ: « بِخَيْرٍ مِنْ قَوْمٍ لَمْ يَعُودُوا مَرِيضًا وَلَمْ يَشْهَدُوا جِنَازَةً

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “How have you risen this morning?” He said: “Better than a people who have not visited the sick or attended a funeral.”
