وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي مَكِينٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مِجْلَزٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
« خُيِّرَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ ؓ، أَيَّ أَزْوَاجِكِ تَخْتَارِينَ » ؟ قَالَتْ: أَخْتَارُ فُلَانًا، الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا، وَكَانَ أَحْسَنَهُمْ خُلُقًا، وَقَدْ كَانَ قُتِلَ عَنْهَا اثْنَانِ
Translation

✧ Asma' bt. 'Umays ؓ was given the choice: "Which of your husbands do you choose?" She said: "I choose so-and-so, the one from whom I was widowed, and he was the best of them in character." Two had been killed while married to her.
