✧ The Thrice-Divorced Woman Does Not Return Until She Marries and Tastes the Honey

قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَوِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ ؓ قَالَ:

إِنَّ الْغُمَيْصَاءَ أَوِ الرُّمَيْصَاءَ جَاءَتْ تَشْكُو زَوْجَهَا، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهُ لَا يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا. فَقَالَ: كَذَبَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ! إِنِّي لَأَفْعَلُ، وَلَكِنَّهَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا الْأَوَّلِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ حَتَّى تَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا

✧ Al-Ghumaysa' or al-Rumaysa' came complaining about her husband, and she said: He does not reach her. He said: She lied, O Messenger of Allah! Indeed I do it, but she wants to return to her first husband. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "She is not lawful for him until she tastes his honey."
