إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِلْعَبَّاسِ ؓ: سَلْ لَنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ الْحِجَابَةَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: أُعْطِيكُمْ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا، السِّقَايَةَ، تَرْزَؤُكُمْ وَلَا تَرْزَؤُونَهَا، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِقَبِيصَةَ: فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ؟ فَقَالَ: لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى هَذَا، وَلَا يَكُونُ إِلَّا قَدَرَ سَأَلَهُ

Translation

✧ I said to al-Abbas ؓ: Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the guardianship of the Ka'bah for us. He said: He said: I will give you what is better than that: the siqayah. It will provide for you and you will not have to provide for it. I then said to Qabisah: Did he ask the Prophet ﷺ? He said: He did not add to this, and it could only be that he had asked him as much.
