وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنِي مِرْدَاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ، فَحَدَّثَنَا قَالَ: مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ رَجُلٍ يُهِلُّ إِلَّا قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: أَبْشِرْ، فَقَالَ عَمُّ مِرْدَاسٍ: يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَاللهِ لَا يُبَشِّرُ اللهُ تَعَالَى إِلَّا بِالْجَنَّةِ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَنْتَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ؟ قَالَ: أَنَا مِرْدَاسُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ الْجُنَيْدِيُّ، قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، كَانَ خِيَارُنَا يَتَتَابَعُونَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ I entered upon 'Abdullah b. 'Amr ؓ, and he narrated to us, saying: 'There is no one, or no man, who raises his voice with the talbiyah except that Allah, the Exalted, says: Rejoice!' The uncle of Mirdas said: 'O Abu Muhammad, by Allah, Allah does not give glad tidings except of Paradise.' He said: 'Who are you, O son of my brother?' He said: 'I am Mirdas b. Shaddad al-Junadi.' He said: 'O son of my brother, our best ones used to follow one another upon that.'
