✧ The Permission to Break the Fast while Traveling and the Validity of the Fast of One Who Fasts during It

قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ:
خَرَجَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ مُبَادِرًا لِلْفِتْنَةِ أَنْ تَقَعَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَأَفْطَرَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَتِ اللَّيْلَةُ الَّتِي يَدْخُلُ فِيهَا، يَعْنِي مَكَّةَ، أَصْبَحَ صَائِمًا
Translation

✧ Ibn Umar ؓ went out hurrying to avoid the turmoil that might occur in Madinah during Ramadan, so he broke the fast. Then, on the night he was to enter Makkah, the next morning he was fasting.
