machine translationSaʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah narrates it from Qatādah from Anas. Thābit b. Ḥammād related it from Saʿīd, and that is an error (wahm). Shuʿbah narrated it from Qatādah from Khilās from Abū Rāfiʿ from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ. Abū Qaṭan was alone in relating it from Shuʿbah, and others besides Shuʿbah do not trace it back with a connected chain. Yaʿlā b. ʿAbbād, a Baghdadi who is weak (ḍaʿīf), also narrated it from Hammām from Qatādah, following Shuʿbah. Others narrate it from Hammām from Qatādah from Abū Rāfiʿ and do not mention Khilās. The hadith of Shuʿbah is the closest of them to being correct.
