machine translationIt was declared defective (muʿall) on two grounds. The first is that there is criticism of Baqiyyah and al-Waḍīn, as stated by al-Mundhirī. Ibn Daqīq al-ʿĪd disputed him regarding them both, saying: Baqiyyah has been declared trustworthy by some of them, and Abū Zurʿah asked ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ibrāhīm about al-Waḍīn b. ʿAṭāʾ, and he said: trustworthy (thiqah). Ibn ʿAdī said: I see no harm in his hadiths. The second is the break in the chain (inqiṭāʿ). Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned from Abū Zurʿah, in the Kitāb al-ʿIlal and the Kitāb al-Marāsīl, that Ibn ʿĀʾidh's narration from ʿAlī is mursal. In the ʿIlal he added that he asked his father and Abū Zurʿah about this hadith, and they said: it is not strong.
