✧ Some people from the Ansar gathered, among them Sahl b. Sa‘d al-Sa‘idi, Abu Humayd al-Sa‘idi, and Abu Usayd al-Sa‘idi, and they mentioned the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Humayd said: “Let me tell you, for I am the most knowledgeable of you about this.” They said: “Then speak.” He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the ablution excellently, then enter into prayer and say the takbir, raising his hands level with his shoulders. Then he bowed and placed his hands on his knees like one gripping them, not lowering his head nor raising it, and he kept his hands away from his sides. Then he raised his head and stood upright until every bone of his returned to its place. Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith, and all the people said: “Thus was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
