✧ I said to Ibn ‘Abbas: “I prayed Zuhr at al-Batha’ behind a foolish old man, and he said twenty-two takbirs: when he prostrated, when he bowed, and when he raised his head.” Ibn ‘Abbas said: “That is the sunnah of Abu al-Qasim ﷺ.” This is the wording of the hadith of Abu Musa. Ibn Khashram said: “That is the sunnah of Abu al-Qasim,” or “the prayer of Abu al-Qasim ﷺ”—Sa‘id was uncertain. Nasr said: “That is the prayer of Abu al-Qasim.”
