✧ Abu Hurayrah entered upon us the mosque of Banu Zurayq and said: Three things the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do which people have abandoned. When he stood for prayer, he did this - and Abu 'Amir gestured with his hand without spreading his fingers or closing them - and he said: This is how Ibn Abi Dhi'b showed us. Abu Bakr said: Yahya b. Hakim gestured to us and raised his hands, spreading his fingers moderately, neither wide nor closed, and he raised his hands above his head, stretching them. He would pause briefly before the recitation, asking Allah, the Exalted, from His bounty, and he would say the takbir in prayer whenever he prostrated and raised.
