أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ:

إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَرَّةً، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْنَا ذَلِكَ تَوَضَّأْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا ".

✧ The adhan in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ was twice twice and the iqamah once, except that he used to say: The prayer has commenced, the prayer has commenced. When we heard that, we performed ablution and went out."
