machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Shuʿayb b. Abī Ḥamzah narrated it from al-Zuhrī from Umm Qays as a mursal report (mursal). Ibn ʿUyaynah, Ibn Jurayj, Maʿmar, Ziyād b. Saʿd and Yūnus b. Yazīd contradicted him; they narrated it from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah from Umm Qays, and this is more sound (aṣaḥḥ). In the report of Maʿmar from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbaydullāh, it says that Umm Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ, so it would be mursal, and the connected (muttaṣil) version is more sound.
