✧ I heard al-Hajjaj say: Do not say 'Surah al-Baqarah'; say 'the surah in which the cow is mentioned.' I mentioned that to Ibrahim, and he said: 'Abd al-Rahman b. Yazid told me that he was with 'Abd Allah when he threw Jamrat al-'Aqabah. He entered the interior of the valley, then he faced it—meaning the Jamrah—and threw it with seven pebbles, saying takbir with each pebble. I said, 'Some people climb the mountain.' He said, 'Here, by the One besides whom there is no god, I saw the one upon whom Surah al-Baqarah was sent down throw.'
