حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ:

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَاذَا نَلْبَسُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ إِذَا أَحْرَمْنَا ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا تَلْبَسُوا الْقُمُصَ، وَلَا السَّرَاوِيلَاتِ، وَلَا الْبَرَانِسَ، وَلَا الْعَمَائِمَ، وَلَا الْقَلَانِسَ، وَلَا الْخِفَافَ، إِلَّا أَحَدٌ لَيْسَتْ لَهُ نَعْلَانِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ

Translation

✧ A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we wear of garments when we enter ihram?' He said: 'Do not wear shirts, trousers, burnouses, turbans, caps, or leather socks, unless someone has no sandals, in which case he may wear them cut below the ankles.'
