✧ Commanding the Postpartum Woman to Bathe and Use a Waist Wrap If She Intends Ihram

حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ:

أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: وَلَدَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ: اغْتَسِلِي وَاسْتَذْفِرِي، ثُمَّ أَهِلِّي

✧ We came to Jabir ibn Abdullah and asked him about the Hajj of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: Asma bint Umais gave birth to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, so she sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'What should I do?' He said: 'Bathe, use a waist wrap, and then enter ihram.'
