✧ Description of Traveling in Abundant Pasture and Barren Land

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:
إِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي الْخِصْبِ فَأَعْطُوا الْإِبِلَ حَقَّهَا، وَإِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي السَّنَةِ فَابْدُرُوا بِنِقْيِهَا، وَإِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّرِيقَ، فَإِنَّهَا طَرِيقُ الدَّوَابِّ وَمَأْوَى الْهَوَامِّ بِاللَّيْلِ

✧ When you travel in abundant pasture, give the camels their due, and when you travel in a barren year, hasten with their marrow, and when you halt for the night, avoid the road, for it is the path of beasts and the shelter of creeping creatures at night.
