حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ مَا تَذْكُرُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: أَذْكُرُ أَنِّي أَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَجَعَلْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ فَنَزَعَهَا مِنْ فِيَّ، وَقَالَ: إِنَّا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ

✧ I asked al-Hasan b. Ali: What do you remember of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: I remember that I took a date from the dates of charity and put it in my mouth, and he pulled it out of my mouth and said: 'We, the family of Muhammad, charity is not lawful for us.'
