حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ [عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ]: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ

كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِقِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ فِيهِ بِعَزِيمَةٍ يَقُولُ: مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

Translation

✧ He used to command the night prayer of Ramadan without commanding it as an obligation, saying: "Whoever prays in Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven."
