✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I am destroyed. He said: "And what has destroyed you?" He said: I had intercourse with my wife during the month of Ramadan. He said: "Can you free a slave?" He said: No. He said: "Can you fast two consecutive months?" He said: No. He said: "Can you feed sixty poor persons?" He said: No. He said: "Sit down." So he sat down. Then the Prophet ﷺ was brought a large basket (araq) containing dates—he said: the araq is the huge basket—and he said: "Take this and give it in charity." He said: O Messenger of God, to a household poorer than us? For between its two lava tracts there is no household poorer than us. The Prophet ﷺ laughed until his canine teeth appeared, and said: "Go and feed your family."
