✧ The collective chapters on the new moons and the time of the beginning of the fast of Ramadan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ أَصْلُهُ بَغْدَادِيٌّ انْتَقَلَ إِلَى فُسْطَاطٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الْفَجْرُ فَجْرَانِ: فَأَمَّا الْأَوَّلُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ وَلَا يُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَ، وَأَمَّا الثَّانِي فَإِنَّهُ يُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَيُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَ

✧ The dawn is two: as for the first, it does not forbid food, nor does it permit the prayer; as for the second, it forbids food and permits the prayer.
