أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو خَلْدَةَ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، وَنَادَاهُ يَزِيدُ الضَّبِّيُّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي زَمَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ، قَدْ شَهِدْتَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَشَهِدْتَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَنَا، فَكَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي ؟ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْبَرْدُ بَكَّرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ، وَإِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ أَبْرَدَ بِالصَّلَاةِ

✧ I heard Anas b. Malik—Yazid al-Dabbi called out to him on a Friday during the time of al-Hajjaj, saying: O Abu Hamzah, you have attended prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you have attended prayer with us, so how did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ use to pray? He said: When the cold became intense, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray early, and when the heat became intense, he would delay the prayer until it was cooler.
