✧ I entered the mosque while the Messenger of God ﷺ was sitting among the people, so I sat down. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "What prevented you from praying two rak'ahs before sitting down?" I said: "O Messenger of God! I saw you sitting and the people sitting." The Prophet ﷺ said: "When one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit down until he has prayed two rak'ahs."

machine translationIt is narrated by ʿĀmir b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr, and there is disagreement about it from him. Suhayl b. Abī Ṣāliḥ narrated it from ʿĀmir, from ʿAmr b. Sulaym, from Jābir, but he was mistaken in it (wahima). The correct version is from ʿAmr b. Sulaym, from Abū Qatādah; this is how ʿĀmir's students narrated it from him. Maʿmar narrated it from Suhayl as a mursal report from Jābir.
