أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ صَاحِبُ الْحِنَّاءِ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ:

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَأَنَا أَغْتَسِلُ، قَالَ: غُسْلُكَ هَذَا مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَأَعِدْ غُسْلًا آخَرَ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنِ اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ لَمْ يَزَلْ طَاهِرًا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ الْأُخْرَى.

✧ Abu Qatada entered upon me on Friday while I was performing ghusl. He said: Is this ghusl of yours for major ritual impurity? I said: Yes. He said: Then perform another ghusl, for I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: Whoever performs ghusl on Friday will remain in a state of purity until the next Friday.
