✧ The Caller to Prayer Notifying the Imam of the Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ كُرَيْبًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

بِتُّ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ، فَصَلَّى يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَنَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ، فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى.

✧ I spent the night with my maternal aunt Maymunah. He - meaning the Prophet ﷺ - prayed as much as Allah willed, then lay down and slept until he snored. Then the mu'adhdhin came to notify him of the prayer, so he went out and prayed.
