✧ The Collective Chapters on the Prayer of the Two Eids

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُزَيْزٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، أَنَّ سَلَامَةَ حَدَّثَهُمْ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فِي الْأَضْحَى وَالْفِطْرِ خَرَجَ بِالْعَنَزَةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى تُرْكَزَ فِي الْمُصَلَّى فَيُصَلِّيَ إِلَيْهَا، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْمُصَلَّى كَانَ فَضَاءً لَيْسَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مَبْنِيٌّ يَسْتَتِرُ بِهِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he went out to the prayer ground on the days of Adha and Fitr, would go out with the spear before him until it was planted in the prayer ground, and he would pray toward it. That was because the prayer ground was an open space with nothing built in it to screen himself with.
