✧ Obligation of Ablution on Some Who Stand for Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الدِّرْهَمِيُّ - بِخَبَرٍ غَرِيبٍ غَرِيبٍ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنِ [ ابْنِ ] بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ إِلَّا يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَإِنَّهُ شُغِلَ؛ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution for every prayer except on the day of the conquest of Makkah, for he was busy; so he combined Dhuhr and 'Asr with a single ablution.
