✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He led the people in a very long standing. He would stand, then bow, then stand, then bow, and he bowed two genuflections in each rakʿah with three bowings. He bowed the third time, then prostrated. On that day, men fainted, and buckets of water were poured on them because of the length of his standing. When he said the takbir, he said, 'God is greatest,' and when he raised his head, he said, 'God hears those who praise Him.' He did not finish until the sun became clear. Then he stood, praised God and extolled Him, and said, 'The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but they are two signs among the signs of God by which He frightens you. So when they eclipse, hasten to the remembrance of God until they clear.'
